(GCARCH) |
The emblem of Goa College of Architecture (GCArch) features a geometric, isometric cube that symbolically reflects the core principles of architectural study and practice with the name of the college written below. The stylised cube depicted in an isometric view, is a fundamental technique used by architects to represent three-dimensional objects in two dimensions. The interlocking parts of the cube are composed of several smaller, interlocking rectangular blocks. This signifies the complexity of architectural design, where individual elements, such as space, structure, and material must come together to create a cohesive whole. The solid, blocky nature of the design represents stability, foundation, and the physical reality of the built environment. The use of ochre or orange and black is often associated with laterite stone and the vibrant, earthy tones found in traditional Goan architecture.
