SATYASAI ENGINEERING COLLEGE, BALASORE (SEC)

The blue colour emblem of Satyasai Engineering College, Balasore (SEC) features a square divided into four squares each housing one outward pointing arrow. A traditional lamp is placed on the square. This assemblage is ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name of the college. Below the seal, on a banner, the name of the place of the college is inscribed. The central stylised flower represents a humble origin that blossoms into peace, eternity, and celestial bliss. In Satya Sai organisations, it also signifies the ‘Lotus of the Heart’. The blue diamond-like shape with arrows pointing outward signifies the spread of knowledge and skills across the world in all directions. The lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; and the blue and white colour  palette reflects reliability, loyalty, and prosperity.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.
