On the shield at the bottom, on a blue banner the the motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya, 1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad) meaning ‘From Darkness Lead Me to Light’ is inscribed. The mountain range symbolises stability, strength, and endurance, representing the intersection of heaven and earth; the torch is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; and the shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery.
