The emblem of Konark Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) features a gearwheel housing the spokes of the iconic Wheel of Konark Sun Temple, motifs of a a factory, a transmission tower and a satellite, a windmill, and a computer. The name of the college surmounts the gearwheel. A banner, placed below the wheel is inscribed with the initials ‘KIST’ of the college. The gearwheel denotes technology, engineering, interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure; and the other motifs refer to the subject disciplines of engineering and technology.

KALINGA INSTITUTE OF INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) was established in 1992 as a vocational training centre with two staff and twelve students. KIIT owes its existence to the vision of its founder Prof. Achyuta Samanta. The green colour emblem of the institute has a bottom half of a gear wheel supporting the acronym ‘KIIT’ of its name in which the two ‘i’s depicting two humans. The gear wheel symbolises interconnectedness; efficiency and precision; progress and advancement; synchronisation and timing and order and structure.
