The initials of the college ‘HIT’ surmounted by a target mark and supported by the motto of the college ‘Aim to Excel’ is placed in the counter of the gearwheel. The gearwheel denotes technology, engineering, interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure; and the target mark symbolises precision, focus, goal achievement, and strategic accuracy.

COLUMBA'S COLLEGE, HAZARIBAGH (SCC) The emblem of St. Columba's College, Hazaribagh (SCC) features a light blue shield inscribed with the motifs of a cross, a dove, elements like elements including a castle, a lion and a harp, a leopard (or panther) and a coiled serpent, along with the letter ‘M’ and a figure representing Saint Columba (an Irish abbot and missionary) standing before a rising sun. The university was inaugurated on October 21, 2007 by its founder.
