The emblem of Chikkanna Government Arts College, Tirupur (CGAC) features the image of the National flag surrounded by the motifs of an elephant, hoe, open book, a traditional lamp, a gearwheel, and a bol of cotton. The seal is surmounted by a blue banner inscribed with the name of the college in Tamil and supported by a blue banner inscribed with the motto of the college in Tamil ‘எழுமின் விழுமின் உழைமின்’ (Mantra 14, Valli 3, Chapter 1, Kathopanishad - part of the dialogue between Yama and Nachiketa) meaning ‘Arise Awake Strive’. The National Flag refers to the nationalistic orientation; the elephant ; the hoe refers to agriculture; the book refers to learning and education; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the gearwheel refers to industry and production; and the bol of cotton refers to the local produce and the cotton industry.
