The logo of Baba Maan Singh College of Nursing (BMSCN) features the Staff of Caduceus with a pair of wings and entwined serpents, the initials of the college ‘BMS’ and a Greek cross in a heart. The motifs are supported by a pair of golden laurels and a black crescent shape and the text ‘College of Nursing’. The full name and address of the college are written on the right in black and maroon. The Staff of Caduceus is a highly recognised symbol in modern healthcare and nursing education, historically associated with communication, balance and the facilitation of healing and it serves as an insignia for medical branches and nursing institutions across the globe. The Greek cross and heart elements symbolise humanitarian aid, emergency medical care and the deep-seated empathy and compassion foundational to the nursing profession. The laurel wreath signifies academic excellence, distinction, honours and a dedication to high professional standards in nursing education. The black crescent shape or crescent moon (Aad Chand) in traditional Nihang and older martial traditions represents Shiv (the absolute, passive divine reality).
