The gold and brown emblem of Government Medical College, Doda (GMC Doda) features the Staff of Caduceus with a pair of wings entwined serpents with the stylised letters ‘C’ and ‘V’ supported by a pair of laurels and banner inscribed with the motto of the college ‘Service to Mankind’. The name of the college surmounts the motifs. The Staff of Caduceus is a highly recognised symbol in modern healthcare and nursing education, historically associated with communication, balance and the facilitation of healing and it serves as an insignia for medical branches and nursing institutions across the globe. The letters ‘C’ and ‘V’ stand for Chenab Valley, which is the alternative historical name for the institution (Chenab Valley Medical College) due to its geographic placement nestled within the majestic Chenab Valley hills. The laurels serve as a timeless symbol of honour, academic distinction, victory and the pursuit of excellence.
