Canara Bank was founded by Shri Ammembal Subba Rao Pai, a great visionary and philanthropist, in July 1906, at Mangalore in Karnataka. The bank has gone through the various phases of its growth trajectory over hundred years of its existence. Growth of Canara Bank was phenomenal, especially after nationalisation in the year 1969. The logo of the bank in yellow and cyan has two seamlessly connected round cornered triangles, supported by its name in Devanagari and English. The motif represents the close ties and partnership between the bank and all its stakeholders. The colour cyan represents stability, vibrancy and depth and the colour yellow means optimism, energy and dynamism. The name is written using bold condensed serif type.
