UTTARAKHAND PEYJAL VIKAS EVAM NIRMAN NIGAM
In 1927, the Public Health Engineering Department was conceived under British India. In 1949 the department was named the Local Self Government Department. Later on under the Uttar Pradesh Water Supply and Sewerage Act 1975, the department was changed to Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam. After the formation of Uttaranchal State the department was formed under Uttaranchal Government as Uttaranchal Peyjal Sansadhan Vikas Evam Nirman Nigam and later on Uttarakhand Peyjal Sansadhan Vikas Evam Nirman Nigam (UPVENN). Its emblem is adopted from the Uttarakhand government’s emblem. It has a blue drop of  water supported by a banner on which its name is written in Devanagari. Below this, three blue strokes symbolise rivers of the State and the water drop is supported by a pair of mountain peaks. At the bottom of the drop of water its tagline in Sanskrit ‘जलस्य संवर्तनं कुल’ meaning ‘Water Transforms Completely’.
