NATIONAL SKILL DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION

The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) is a Public Private Partnership (PPP) Company set up by the Ministry of Finance, with a vision to speed up the skills landscape in India and also to develop certain appropriate models to enhance, support and coordinate private sector initiatives. It is a not-for-profit public limited company incorporated on July 31, 2008, under section 25 of the Companies Act, 1956. The NSDC logo depicts three human figures, along with the tagline of NSDC i.e., ‘Transforming the Skill Landscape’.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.

The centre of the emblem features a factory chimney and electrical transmission towers, which represent the institute's strong focus on industrialisation, power and engineering excellence. The gearwheel surrounding the central image is a universal symbol for technology, mechanical progress, and engineering. Its motto in Sanskrit ‘आचारः प्रथमो धर्मः’ (Brahmaparva, Bhavishya Purana) inscribed on a golden ribbon meaning ‘Code of Conduct is the Foremost Virtue’. The outermost circle contains the full name and place of the college. It has a legacy as one of Madhya Pradesh's oldest technical institutions.

WESTERN AIR COMMAND The origin of the Western Air Command can be traced back to the nascent years of independent India, when the various formations of the Air Force were organised into two groups. On July 22, 1949 the No 1 Operational Group was re-designated as the Operational Command. The Command assumed its present name of Headquarters Western Air Command on June 10, 1963. Headquarters Western Air Command, located at Subroto Park, New Delhi, has over 200 bases placed under its command and has been involved in all major operations in India since independence. Due to its geographical location the Command has always been the hub-centre of all operational activities during any operation. Its insignia has a ‘trishul’ and an eagle in the centre of a circle which is topped by India’s national emblem. Its motto in Sanskrit ‘Akashmasthseema’ in golden border is placed at the bottom.

INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY GUWAHATI Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, the sixth member of the IIT fraternity, was established in 1994. The academic programme of IIT Guwahati commenced in 1995. The motto of IIt Guwahati is ‘ज्ञान ही शक्ति है’ which means ‘Knowledge Is Power’. The emblem of IITG in Yellow ochre, red and blue  was designed by Yeshwant Chaudhary in 1994, based on the concept of sound connection between the mind, body and soul. The concept underlines the deep philosophy of cosmic beliefs in the field of yoga (a philosophy practised in India since the Vedic times). The logo of the Board is based on Devanagari letter ‘उ’ drawn using four swooshes, in which the cyan represents the mountains, blue represents the rivers, red represents the temples of the land and green represents the forests. UJJAIN ENGINEERING COLLEGE, UJJAIN (UECU) The emblem of Ujjain Engineering College, Ujjain (UECU) features the motifs of a dam of water, a dish antenna, a computer, a gearwheel, a chemical vessel and an electrical transmission tower. The circle is ensconced by a red circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. Below the seal, on a white banner the motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘योगः कर्मसु कौशलम्’ (Verse 50, Chapter 2, Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘Yoga is Skill in Action’ is inscribed.
