Below the shield, on a banner its slogan ‘Learn Love Serve’ is written. At the right the name of the university is written in serif typeface. Its motto in Sanskrit ‘उद्वयं तमसः परि’ (1.50.10, Rig Veda) meaning ‘Beholding the Light Above the Darkness’ is written on top of the shield.
