LOKBHARATI UNIVERSITY FOR RURAL INNOVATION

The circular emblem of Lokbharati University for Rural Innovation (LURI) houses the motifs of a waterbody, rising sun and clouds and a sailboat, with a flying bird bringing new ideas and its place. These are ensconced by a circular border on which its name and its motto is inscribed separated by a pair of traditional lamps. The Sanskrit motto ‘अविद्यया मृत्युं तीर्त्वा विद्ययाડमृतमश्नुते’ (Verse 11, Ishopanishad) means ‘Ignorance Crosses Beyond Death and the Knowledge Enjoys Immortality’. The swan is the harbinger of new and fresh ideas and solutions, the sun denotes life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; the sailboat denotes journey and adventure and the lamps symbolise light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity.

The circular emblem of this university has a gear wheel with sixteen teeth holding the motif of a decorative column standing on a lotus pedestal and supported on either side by scroll designs. These are ensconced by a border on which the name of the university is inscribed in Devanagari and Bengali. The gear wheel symbolises interconnectedness; efficiency and precision; progress and advancement; synchronisation, timing, order and structure and the decorated column signifies dharma and being virtuous.

GURUGRAM UNIVERSITY The emblem of Gurugram University (GU) has a yellow shield supported by a pair of laurels, crested by a flame and by a red banner below. The shield houses the motifs of rising sun, a pair of twigs,an open book, a globe, a human brain, a banyan tree, robot, WiFi symbol, picture of persons holding a trophy, its name and place and a bow and arrow. On the banner its motto in Sanskrit ‘बिद्या जीवनाये न तु जीविकाय’ meaning ‘Knowledge is for Life and Not for Livelihood’ is written.
