In 2005 IX Corps (India) was raised in part of the 16 Corps' area, taking over two of its divisions. It is headquartered at at Yol. DOORDARSHAN 1959 Doordarshan (DD) is an autonomous public service broadcaster founded by the Government of India, which is one of two divisions of Prasar Bharati. It was established on September 15, 1959. DD provides television, online and mobile services throughout metropolitan and regional India, as well as overseas, through the satellite network. Engineering education in BHU started in 1919 with the establishment of Banaras Engineering College (BENCO). The next stage of development saw the establishment of College of Technology (TECHNO) and College of Mining & Metallurgy (MINMET).
