GOVERNMENT COLLEGE DIGGAL (GDC DIGGAL)

The emblem of Government College Diggal (GDC Diggal) features a blue shield housing the motifs of a yellow lotus, a traditional lamp and an open book placed over water. The shield is surrounded by four blue banners inscribed with the name of the college in Devanagari and its motto in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya, 1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad), which translates to ‘From Darkness Lead Me to Light’. The Shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the lotus symbolises purity, resilience and personal growth; the lamp signifies enlightenment, wisdom, and the awakening of the intellect.; the book represents formal education, institutional learning and the storehouse of universal knowledge; and the water waves symbolise the vast ocean of knowledge and existence that needs to be navigated with the help of education.
