Below the pictorial, its acronym is written and below it its motto in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा  ज्योतिर्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya, 1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad) meaning ‘From Darkness Lead me to Light’ is inscribed on a banner placed below the globe. The motifs represent the geography of its location.

Deriving inspiration from this noble ideal, Kalakshetra Foundation was established. The Graphic Era Educational Society (GEES) is a non-profit organisation.
