The letter ‘K’ is treated as a hand holding a flame in purple and blue. The flame denotes enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; the colour blue symbolises serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty and the colour purple symbolises nobility and power.

GOVERNMENT ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE, PAPPIREDDIPATTI (GASCPRP) The emblem of Government Arts and Science College, Pappireddipatti (GASCPRP) features shield housing the motifs of the king Athiyaman interacting with poet Avvaiyar, an open book with rising sun and two abstract humans, a tree held by a pair of hands, a computer and an image of Vaniyar Dam, ensconced by a purple circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. At the bottom, a banner inscribed with the motto of the college in Tamil ‘‘கற்றனைத் தூறும் அறிவு’ (Thiruvalluvar, 396, Thirukkural) meaning ‘Knowledge Grows As Much As One Learns’ is inscribed is placed on the seal. Athiyaman and Avvaiyar refer to history and heritage; the book, sun and the humans refer to education and educational achievement; the tree refers to nature, sustenance and growth; the computer refers to technology; and the dam refers to the local landmark.
