The dark hued circular emblem of National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) has a swan swimming in a waterbody with lotus in a night with a full moon. The swan though looks calm and gentle outwardly is agitating vigorously inside the water symbolising the human mind and body. The lotus represents the pure growing out of  impurity. This circular motif is circumscribed by a white border on which its name and its motto are inscribed. The motto reads in Sanskrit ‘समत्वं योग उच्यते’ (Shloka 48, Chapter 2, Srimad Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘Evenness (of mind) is the Yoga’.

RAJA SHANKAR SHAH UNIVERSITY, CHHINDWARA Raja Shankar Shah University, Chhindwara University (RSUC) has been established by the GOvernment of Madhya Pradesh dated June 17, 2019. SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi.
