9 GORKHA RIFLES
The history of the 9 Gorkha Rifles dates back to 1817, when it was raised at Infantry Levy at Fatehgarh. In 1823, it became a regular unit as part of the Bengal Native Infantry. In 1901, the Regiment was designated 9 Gorkha Rifles. Its Regimental Centre is Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh and its Regimental insignia is a pair of crossed khukris (a Gorkha dagger) with the numeral 9 below. Its Regimental motto is ‘Kafar Bhanda Marnu Ramro’ (Better  to Die than Live Like a Coward) and its war cry is ‘Ayo Gorkhali’ meaning 'The Gorkhas Are Here'.

On its right its acronym is written in blue serif typeface and its name is written below that. The colour blue signifies serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty and the colour orange signifies energy, vitality, creativity, inspiration, joy and happiness.

THE I.K. GUJRAL PUNJAB TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) was established by an Act of State Legislature on January 16, 1997, to promote technical, management and pharmaceutical education in the State. It got its current name in 2015. The red and blue emblem of the university has a structure of an atom with a sun placed in the centre and supported at the bottom by a pair of hands on a blue circle, meaning the nourish, support and propagate technical and scientific education. It is ensconced in a red border which bears the name of the university in Punjabi and English. Below this on a red banner the name of the district ‘Kapurthala’ in which the university is located is written. GOA UNIVERSITY Goa University (GU) has three campuses in Panaji, Margao and Vasco da Gama. The emblem of the university has three layers of concentric circles of orange, light orange and a circle consists of motifs of Mount Kailas with ‘ॐ’ inscribed on; a green valley; typical Buddhist monastery; a stupa; its acronym ‘SSJU’ and an open book supporting all. All these are supported by a magenta coloured banner which bears its year of formation.
