INDIAN INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT BODH GAYA

The identity of Indian Institute of Manangement Bodh Gaya (IIMBG) was uveiled by His Holiness the fourteenth Dalai Lama on January 14, 2020. The logo was designed by Chakradhar Saswade of National Institute of Design, Bengaluru. The logo provides a visual identity to IIM Bodh Gaya, which combines the letters of its acronym and some symbolic images along with it. It carries some significant elements in it representing the location of Nalanda and the Bodh Gaya. Stupas, symbolising the centre of the world, or the axis Mundi, represent the enlightened mind or the ‘Buddha’. Inspired by the Stupa of Sanchi, it is symbolic of the material body and the subtle and vibrant ‘inner space’. The waves depict reverberance, radiance, growth, harmony and unity. Their constructive interference creates an optical illusion of luminance and stand as a ray of insight and inspiration and for 'बोध एवं ज्ञान'. The leaf of the sacred Bodhi Tree serves as a symbol of knowledge, soul, abundance and generosity. The motto ‘सब्बे भद्राणि पस्सन्तु’ is in the Pali language, the language of Buddha’s teachings. It is taken from the ‘Dhammavani Sangrah’ that has verses in the Pali with Hindi translation by Shri S.N. Goyanka and is based on the ‘Tipitaka’ that constitutes the body of classical text of Theravada Buddhism. In Hindi, this translates into ‘सभी मंगलमय घटनाओं के साक्षी बने’ meaning ‘Let All be Witness to all Good Events’.

DARSHAN UNIVERSITY The red and black emblem of Darshan University (DU) has an U-shaped shield housing the monogram of ‘DU’ and three stripes cut through its left top edge. Below the shield its motto in Sanskrit ‘योगः कर्मसु कौशलम्’ (Verse 50, Chapter 2, Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘Yoga is Skill in Action’ is written. At the right the name of the university is written in sanserif bold and thin typeface in black. BURDWAN UNIVERSITY Burdwan University is a State University which was established on June 15, 1965. The circular emblem of this university has a gear wheel with sixteen teeth holding the motif of a decorative column standing on a lotus pedestal and supported on either side by scroll designs. These are ensconced by a border on which the name of the university is inscribed in Devanagari and Bengali. The gear wheel symbolises interconnectedness; efficiency and precision; progress and advancement; synchronisation, timing, order and structure and the decorated column signifies dharma and being virtuous.

GURUGRAM UNIVERSITY The emblem of Gurugram University (GU) has a yellow shield supported by a pair of laurels, crested by a flame and by a red banner below. The shield houses the motifs of rising sun, a pair of twigs,an open book, a globe, a human brain, a banyan tree, robot, WiFi symbol, picture of persons holding a trophy, its name and place and a bow and arrow. On the banner its motto in Sanskrit ‘बिद्या जीवनाये न तु जीविकाय’ meaning ‘Knowledge is for Life and Not for Livelihood’ is written. The lamp and the flame represent human energy; the rising sun denotes enlightenment; the twigs denote medicines; the book denotes new world; the globe represents global collaboration; the brain represents the brainstorming for creativity; the banyan or Bodhi tree is the symbol of Sansara (World) and Dharma; the robot and WiFi denote technological advancement; the trophy and persons denote team effort for success and the bow and arrow denote the historical heritage.
