NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY JAMSHEDPUR

National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur (NIT Jamshedpur) or NITJSR) was formally inaugurated on August 15, 1960 at Adityapur. On December 27, 2002 RIT, Jamshedpur was upgraded to National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur with the Deemed University status. Its insignia in the form of an oblong shield has a number of elements and motifs within. Its name and place supported by two laurels of cereals; map of India within a gear wheel circumscribed by a revolving line; an electrical transmission tower; a scientific experiment; a burning lamp; a reservoir dam and a banner with its motto ‘शंन ॠभवः सुकृतः सुहस्ताः’ meaning ‘Well Done Well Handled’.
