EASTERN AIR COMMAND

The No 1 Operational Group was upgraded to Eastern Air Command (EAC) on December 1, 1959 at Calcutta. In order to have more effective operational control over the region of the north-east, the Command Headquarters was shifted to Shillong on June 10, 1963. In 1980, a decision was taken to maintain Shillong as the permanent location of HQs EAC. Its insignia has a pair of trishuls and an eagle in the centre in a circle which is topped by India’s national emblem. Its motto in Sanskrit ‘Samareshu Parakramaha’ in golden border is placed at the bottom.

The gearwheel ; the chinar leaf refers to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir; the atom refers to science, engineering and technology; the torches with flames are emblems of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; and the colour blue signifies serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.

JHARKHAND GOVERNMENT TOOL ROOM, DUMKA (GTRTC DUMKA) The emblem of Jharkhand Government Tool Room, Dumka (GTRTC Dumka) features a blue gearwheel housing the motifs of a spanner with a pallet knife, a pair of gear wheels and a computer. The gearwheel is ensconced by a circular border with brown outlines inscribed with the name and place of the college. The seal is supported by a pair of laurels.
