The nib refers to symbolises freedom, intelligence, creativity, professionalism, determination and diligence; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the waves denote change, impermanence, power, and the cyclical nature of existence; the globe denotes education, knowledge, influence, timelessness, global unity and interconnectedness; and the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.

In 2005 IX Corps (India) was raised in part of the 16 Corps' area, taking over two of its divisions. It is headquartered at at Yol. DOORDARSHAN 1959 Doordarshan (DD) is an autonomous public service broadcaster founded by the Government of India, which is one of two divisions of Prasar Bharati. INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (BANARAS HINDU UNIVERSITY) VARANASI The Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University) (IIT BHU) Varanasi owes its existence to Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, the founder of the first residential University of modern India, Banaras Hindu University (BHU). Engineering education in BHU started in 1919 with the establishment of Banaras Engineering College (BENCO). The next stage of development saw the establishment of College of Technology (TECHNO) and College of Mining & Metallurgy (MINMET).
