The orange and blue circular seal of BGS Institute of Technology (BGSIT) features an orange circle holding the motifs of a gearwheel, a satellite dish antenna, a MRI scanner, a computer and a lighthouse supported the letter ‘ॐ’ and surmounted by the name of the managing trust; ensconced by a blue circular border inscribed with the name of the college and its place. The lighthouse refers to guidance, safety and resilience; the letter ‘ॐ’ or ‘Ohm’ or ‘Om’ is a symbol representing a sacred sound, syllable, mantra and an invocation and the Indian red denotes divinity, passion, energy and fire; and the other motifs refer to the branches of engineering.

KALINGA INSTITUTE OF INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) was established in 1992 as a vocational training centre with two staff and twelve students. KIIT owes its existence to the vision of its founder Prof. Achyuta Samanta. The green colour emblem of the institute has a bottom half of a gear wheel supporting the acronym ‘KIIT’ of its name in which the two ‘i’s depicting two humans. The gear wheel symbolises interconnectedness; efficiency and precision; progress and advancement; synchronisation and timing and order and structure. The colour green symbolises agriculture, nature, growth, balance, harmony, environment, prosperity, vitality, prestige, wealth and being very down to earth.
