ST. GREGORIOS COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING (SGCE)

The emblem of St. Gregorios College of Engineering (SGCE) features a diptych superimposed on an ancient crucifix of the St. Thomas (Nasrani) community of Kerala, which consists of three cloves at each end, representing the Holy Trinity. The crucifix features a circular icon bearing the portrait of Saint Gregorios of Parumala, which is encircled by the name of the institution. The left panel of the diptych depicts an open book which is an universal symbol for learning and wisdom. The right of the diptych shows the rising sun denoting the hope of a better, more promising future that can be made possible only by an enlightened and educated citizenry. The motto of the college ‘Study, Serve & Sanctify in God’ is inscribed on a red banner below the seal. The year of inception is placed at the bottom.

KALINGA INSTITUTE OF INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) was established in 1992 as a vocational training centre with two staff and twelve students. KIIT owes its existence to the vision of its founder Prof. Achyuta Samanta. The green colour emblem of the institute has a bottom half of a gear wheel supporting the acronym ‘KIIT’ of its name in which the two ‘i’s depicting two humans. The gear wheel symbolises interconnectedness; efficiency and precision; progress and advancement; synchronisation and timing and order and structure.
