The emblem of Mar Baselios Institute of Technology and Science (MBITS) features a traditional lamp supporting its initials ‘MBITS’ and three strokes of light blue to dark blue strokes ensconced by a semicircular border inscribed with its name and a semicircular gearwheel. This assemblage is supported by a pair of laurels and a blue banner inscribed with its motto ‘Wisdom Crowns Knowledge’. The lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the gearwheel denotes interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure; the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication; and the convey a sense of movement, fluidity, or a modern aesthetic.

KALINGA INSTITUTE OF INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) was established in 1992 as a vocational training centre with two staff and twelve students. KIIT owes its existence to the vision of its founder Prof. Achyuta Samanta. The green colour emblem of the institute has a bottom half of a gear wheel supporting the acronym ‘KIIT’ of its name in which the two ‘i’s depicting two humans. The gear wheel symbolises interconnectedness; efficiency and precision; progress and advancement; synchronisation and timing and order and structure.
