The emblem of PES Institute of Technology And Management (PES ITM) features a globe placed over the emblem of PES University which has a compass rose, also called a wind rose, rose of the winds or compass star in blue colour placed in an orange circle. It is surrounded by a thick blue circle with a niche at the north point, symbolising the northern point or the pole of the compass lets the students break the boundaries into the new world. Below the pictorial, the initials of the Institute is written in blue and red and at the bottom, the motto ‘Education for the Real World’ is written.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.
