Below the seal, on a light blue banner the name of the college is written and its places written at the bottom. On a dark blue banner surmounting the shield, its motto in Kannada ‘ವಿದ್ಯಾ ವಿವೇಕ ವರ್ಧನಂ’ meaning ‘Knowledge Increase Wisdom’ is inscribed. The lotus denotes purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; the shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the book refers to learning, education, knowledge, and wisdom; and the other motifs refer to the subject of engineering.

The motto of the college in Sanskrit is ‘विद्यया विन्दते अमृतम्’ (Mantra 2.4, Kenopanishad), which translates to ‘Immortality Through Knowledge’.
