The emblem of Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology (MBCET) features a gearwheel and a campus inscribed with its name and place housing the motifs of a structure of an atom supporting a set of geometrical drawing tools created by a torch with flame and supported by its motto in Latin ‘Duc In Altum’ meaning ‘Put Out Into the Deep’. The globe denotes education, knowledge, influence, timelessness, global unity and interconnectedness; the geometrical tools and the atom refer to the engineering and science education; and the torch with flame is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power.

KIIT owes its existence to the vision of its founder Prof. Achyuta Samanta. The green colour emblem of the institute has a bottom half of a gear wheel supporting the acronym ‘KIIT’ of its name in which the two ‘i’s depicting two humans.
