The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the book refers to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; the gearwheels refer to engineering; the torch with flame symbolises is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; and the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.
