The reddish brown circular seal of Matha College of Technology (MCT Ernakulam) features a shield holding the motifs of an open book, a mortarboard hat, a computer and a set of geometrical drawing tools representing engineering learning, education, knowledge, educational achievement, and educational tools. The shield is supported by a pair of traditional lamps placed on decorative pedestal and crested by a lamp with flame and surmounted by a banner inscribed with the name of the college. This assemblage is placed on a brown circle with an orange outline. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; and the traditional lamps symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity.

The central motifs of the winged Staff of Caduceus entwined by a pair of serpents crested with a flaming torch, supported by an open book and a pair of laurels replace the Lion Capital; and the name, place and motto of the college replace the name of the State. The motto of the college in Sanskrit is ‘विद्यया विन्दते अमृतम्’ (Mantra 2.4, Kenopanishad), which translates to ‘Immortality Through Knowledge’. The Staff of Caduceus symbolises medicine and medical profession; the book symbolises the accumulation and dissemination of medical knowledge and the academic foundation of the institution; the torch with flame is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; and the laurels are symbols, which represent victory, honour and academic excellence.
