The book refers to learning, education, knowledge and wisdom; the flame is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; and the globe denotes education, knowledge, influence, timelessness, global unity and interconnectedness; the gearwheel refers to interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure; and the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.

At the bottom, a banner inscribed with the motto of the college in Tamil ‘‘கற்றனைத் தூறும் அறிவு’ (Thiruvalluvar, 396, Thirukkural) meaning ‘Knowledge Grows As Much As One Learns’ is inscribed is placed on the seal. Athiyaman and Avvaiyar refer to history and heritage; the book, sun and the humans refer to education and educational achievement; the tree refers to nature, sustenance and growth; the computer refers to technology; and the dam refers to the local landmark.
