NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY PATNA

National Institute of Technology Patna (NITP) is the eighteenth NIT created by the Government of India after rechristening the erstwhile Bihar College of Engineering Patna on January 28, 2004. NIT Patna approached Industrial Design Centre, IITB to redesign their Visual Identity. Therefore it was envisaged a new face, a new beginning, to be translated in a visual symbol, brand language, that the institute could reckon with. The sharp geometric patterns striving to achieve a goal manifesting progressive education. Sharpness and precision symbolise clarity of thought, guiding a focused mind with self confidence, to seek fresh avenues in all directions. Overall this circular emblem in yellow, orange and red evokes an image of energy, dynamism and vigour. The vision of the rising sun generates a new dawn for one of the oldest engineering institutes in India. The tagline in Sanskrit ‘श्रमोनवरत चेष्टा’ meaning ‘Hard Work and Consistent Efforts’ meaning written below the impression of sun.

1 ARMOURED DIVISION

1 ARMOURED DIVISION The 1 Armoured Division is an armoured division of the Indian Army. It is part of II Corps and is headquartered at Patiala, Punjab. It is part of the Indian Army's Western Command. The division was formed by the redesignation of  31st Indian Armoured Division on September 1, 1945. The Division, also nicknamed the 'Black Elephant' or 'Airawat' Division, consisted in 1965 of the 17th Cavalry, The Poona Horse, the 4th Hodson's Horse, the 16th Black Elephant Cavalry, the 7th Light Cavalry, the 2nd Royal Lancers, the 18th Cavalry and the 62nd Cavalry. Following the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war, the division was reorganised with the 1st and 43rd Armoured Brigades and relocated in 1972 to Ambala. In 1984, it was reorganized with the 1st, 43rd and 98th Armoured Brigades. The yellow background and red bordered sleeve patch of this Corps has a black elephant in the foreground.

THE PARACHUTE REGIMENT

THE PARACHUTE REGIMENT The first Indian airborne formation was the 50 Independent Parachute Brigade raised on October 29, 1941 with 151 British, 152 Indian and 153 Gurkha Parachute Battalions and other support units. The Indian Parachute Regiment was established on March 1, 1945, as the regiment to which is Indian and Gurkha parachute battalions would belong. 152nd Indian Parachute Bn was split to form the 1st Parachute Bn consisting of Hindu troops and the Muslims troops forming the 4th Para Bn, while 153rd and 154th Gurkha Para Bns being renamed the 2nd and 3rd Battalions respectively. Four independent parachute companies were also raised to complete the regiment, one each as a defence company for the divisional HQ and the brigade HQs and named thus. Its Regimental Centre is Bangalore with the training establishment at Agra. Regimental insignia is an open parachute with wings spread out and a dagger placed upright, between the wingsand its motto is ‘Shatrujeet’ (The Conqueror).

THE PUNJAB REGIMENT

THE PUNJAB REGIMENT The Punjab Regiment is one of the oldest in the Indian Army. It traces its origins to 1761 when the first battalion was raised at Trichinopoly. The first four battalions of what later became the 2nd Punjab Regiment and finally the Punjab Regiment and were raised during the hostilities in the Carnatic in south India between 1761 and 1776. The names changed from Coast Sepoys to Carnatic Battalions to Madras Native Infantry to The Punjab Regiment. Its Regimental Centre is in Ramgarh, Bihar and its Regimental insignia is a Galley, an ancient Greek or Roman warship, with a bank of oars and sail. It is perhaps the only infantry insignia of a naval vessel anywhere. It was awarded to 69th Punjabis in recognition of the readiness to serve overseas. Its motto is ‘Sthal Wa Jal’ (By Land and Sea) and its  war cry is ‘Bole So Nihal, Sat Sri Akal’ (He who cries God is Truth, is Ever Happy) and ‘Bol Jawala Ma Ki Jai’ (Say Victory to Goddess Jawala).

NATIONAL MUSEUM INSTITUTE OF HISTORY OF ART, CONSERVATION AND MUSEOLOGY  In 1983 diploma and post graduate diploma courses in history of international and modern art and their sources and restoration of oil paintings were initiated in National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi. In the year 1985, the programme was shifted to National Museum and its scope was expanded. The Society of the National Museum Institute of the History of Art, Conservation and Museology (NMIHCM), Delhi was formed and registered on January 27, 1989. Based on the recommendation of the University Grants Commission, the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India accorded the status of 'Deemed to be University' on April 29, 1989. UNIQUE IDENTIFICATION AUTHORITY OF INDIA -AADHAAR The brand name of the Unique Identification Number (UID) is Aadhaar. The name and logo for the unique numbers to be issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) have been developed keeping in mind the transformational potential of the programme. Together, they communicate the essence and spirit of the UIDAI's mandate to people across the country. The design, which has been selected as the logo for Aadhaar, is a sun in red and yellow, with a fingerprint traced across its centre. The logo effectively communicates the vision for Aadhaar.
