NR Group is an Indian business group which comprises six companies in various businesses such as essential oils, fragrances, incense, and electronics. It is based in Mysore and was established in 1948 by N. Ranga Rao as Mysore Products and General Trading Company, which later became N. Ranga Rao & Sons Pvt. Ltd. Ranga Rao & Sons, started in 1948, is a manufacturer of incense and fragrances. Rao took steps in creating the Cycle brand. He opted for the word ‘Cycle Agarbatti, as the cycle was affordable. Cycle is called a cycle irrespective of any country or the language you speak. No matter how rich or poor you are, no matter which religion you follow, a cycle is a cycle. Over the years, a lot of philosophical values have been added to what the symbol of ‘cycle’ denotes in terms of prayer’.

THUMS UP Thums Up was created in 1977, after the American company Coca Cola withdrew from India. The Chauhan brothers owned part of the Parle company and already had two other brands of soda, Limca and Gold Spot, which were popular in India at the time. In the year 1993 Coca Cola bought the Parle owned drinks Gold Spot, Limca and Thums Up. The original Thums Up logo was a red hand gesture with a slanted, white, sans-serif typeface. This would later be modified by Coca Cola with blue strokes and a more modern-looking typeface.
