INDIAN INSTITUTE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY KALYANI

The Indian Institute of Information Technology Kalyani has been set up with an objective to produce best-in-class human resources in IT. IIIT Kalyani has been set up at Kalyani, West Bengal by Government of India, Government of West Bengal and industry partners on a Not-for-profit Public Private Partnership (N-PPP) basis. Its light blue emblem in the shape of an edged shield with thick and thin borders holds the tree of knowledge, which has a satellite receiver and its motto in Sanskrit ‘विद्याधनं सर्वधनप्रधानम्’ (Niti Satakam, Bhartihari ) meaning ‘Wealth of Education is the Supreme of all the Wealth’. This is supported by a banner carrying its name and the bottom banner bearing the name of the place. The tree is supported on either side by a conch symbolising spread of divine knowledge and a pigeon symbolising peace and friendship.

MAULANA AZAD NATIONAL URDU UNIVERSITY Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) is a Central University established by an Act of Parliament in 1998. The logo of the university has two strokes of orange and green forming the shape of ‘U’ in tricolour and has a ‘Ashoka Chakra’ at its top. This is supported by an open book on which images of an atom and a burning candle are depicted. Its name is written in Urdu atop the emblem on a banner; written in Devanagari on a banner above the logo and in English at its bottom. The book represents knowledge and education; the atom denotes science and the candle denotes light and guidance to discover the unknown.

SANT GAHIRA GURU VISHWAVIDYALAYA The circular emblem of Sant Gahira Guru Vishwavidyalaya (SGCG), formerly known a s Sarguja University has a circular border in orange and green and has its name, place and motto inscribed in Devanagari and supported by a pair of tribal ornaments. The motto is written in Sanskrit which is an extract from the Kathopanishad ‘विद्ययाऽमृतमश्नुते’, (Shloka 11, Ishopanishad) meaning ‘Immortality is Gained from Learning’. Inside the border, motifs of a drum, supported by a pair of horns; an open book topped by a red sun ; a banyan tree and a pair of crests of millets are placed.
