Punjab Kings (PBKS) are a franchise cricket team based in Mohali, Punjab, that plays in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Established in 2008 as Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), the franchise is jointly owned by Mohit Burman, Ness Wadia, Preity Zinta and Karan Paul through their KPH Dream Cricket Pvt. Ltd. The team plays its home matches at the PCA Stadium, Mohali. Punjabis like to see themselves as brave, royal and with huge hearts, qualities best epitomised by a lion. Symbolically, the two lions in the insignia represent all Punjabis: by heritage; by birth or by choice; who are lion-hearted: brave, bold, courageous and heroic and We are passionate and committed. Punjab Kings are lion-hearted, spirited, passionate, entertaining, brave and fan-oriented. The red and gold logo has a roaring lion with its name written above the motif. The text is written in bold fonts in a dramatic style. The lion represents Maharaj Ranjit Singh and Maharaja of Patiala, Bhupinder Singh.
