The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Berhampur, established in 2016 by the Ministry of Education, Government of India is a Center of Excellence dedicated to teaching and research in basic sciences. Its red colour logo has a pictorial and a monogram of its acronym. The pictorial has the wheel of Konark Sun temple, with its name written in Devanagari on the wheel frame and its acronym in English. The wheel represents Odisha, in which Berhampur is located and the colour red symbolises Lord Jagannath, the Lord of Puri.
