INDIAN INSTITUTE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY KOTA

Indian Institute of Information Technology, Kota (IIIT, Kota) is a joint venture of the Ministry of Education (MoE) Government of India and Government of Rajasthan with industry partners in Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) model and was established in 2013. Its orange and blue logo has a traditional lamp ensconced in a blue border. The name of the Institute is written on the border in English and Devanagari. The lamp has a chip supported on top and bottom by its tagline in Sanskrit ‘तत्पूजा कर्मचारिवलं’ and English ‘Work is Worship’. On either side are two women working on laptops. On the left side of the flame a girl stands with raised hands supporting icons of QC, cloud and AI and on the right side a boy is supporting icons of SC, electronics and binary.

A pair of laurels supports the motifs on the sides and a banner and its initials at the bottom. All these are placed on a blue rectangular panel. The farmer refers to agriculture and agricultural financing; the gear wheel refers to industry and industrial financing and the laurels refer to ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.

THE DOGRA REGIMENT

THE DOGRA REGIMENT The Dogras who form the hardy and loyal population of the hill regions of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir have a long tradition of soldiering. The Dogras formed into a regiment in 1887 and three Dogra Regiments were raised as part of the Bengal Infantry and the Dogra Scouts come under the aegis of the Dogra Regiment. Its Regimental Centre is Fazizbad, Uttar Pradesh and its insignia is a tiger, revered as the mount of Goddess Durga, who is a widely worshipped deity in the Dogra Hills. Its Regimental motto is ‘Kartavyam Anvatma’ (Duty Before Death) and its war cry is ‘Jawala Mata Ki Jai’ (Victory to Goddess Jawala). Its insignia is A Tiger, revered as the mount of Goddess Durga, who is a widely worshipped deity in these regions.

GUJARAT VIDYAPITH Gujarat Vidyapith was founded by Mahatma Gandhi on October 18, 1920. Gujarat Vidyapith has been a deemed university since 1963. The emblem of the university is an open lotus flower. In it, in Devanagari script, is written ‘सा विद्या या विमुक्तये’ meaning ‘Knowledge is That which Liberates (us)’. In Arabic it is written ‘al hikamato zallatual monimine fahaiso uajedaha ahakko leha’. The banyan tree in the emblem signifies growth. There is also the moon that symbolises beauty, calmness and development. Lotus shows non-attachment and holy spirit and the lamps on either side in a circle symbolise knowledge. The university was established for the purpose of achieving independence. The object of political independence was temporary but the devotion for self-liberation and knowledge are its permanent ideals. This devotion should continue to grow like a banyan tree and moon with a spirit of non-attachment of a lotus.

RABINDRA BHARATI UNIVERSITY Rabindra Bharati University was founded on May 8, 1962, under the Rabindra Bharati Act to mark the birth centenary of poet Rabindranath Tagore at his residential house at Kolkata. The emblem of the university is a modified version of Vishva Bharati University in square shape with woodcut like elements dividing the square into six parts. The upper part bears the name of the university in Bengali and in the centre a lotus with sixteen petals holding a book of palm leaf manuscript.
