SAVE FOOD SHARE FOOD SHARE JOY |
IFSA - Save Food, Share Food, Share Joy is an initiative of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India and Food Sharing Networks across India who come together to reduce food waste and hunger and to feed the needy and hungry with surplus food through structured systems. What if the major industries, food sharing organisations and active citizens could come together to reduce the amount of food being wasted in our country? At the same time, what if more food could be donated to help feed needy and hungry families? These are the goals of the Save Food, Share Food, Share Joy (IFSA), an initiative of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India and major Food Sharing Organizations across the country IFSA brings together citizens, food businesses, corporates, civil society organisations, volunteers, government and local bodies in a coordinated manner to prevent food being lost or wasted throughout the supply chain, from initial production down to final household consumption. Its logo is simple, direct and eloquent with four humans in the form of hearts with heads holding their hands together and supporting each other in orange colour. Its name is written alongside the pictorial.
