INDIAN INSTITUTE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY RANCHI

Indian Institute of Information Technology Ranchi (IIIT-Ranchi) is an autonomous institute setup by the MoE, Government of India and Government of Jharkhand along with the industry partners TTL, TCS and CCL on a Public Private Partnership. The outermost layer of its emblem is branched into two very unique concepts. One the Frequency Modulation - which has acted as a revolutionary technology in the field of communication and the other is the waves resembling the rays of the glorious Sun depicting the mission of the college i.e. to light up the path of knowledge for the pupil and also providing them with energy, force, strength. The name of the college is concentrically arched in both Hindi and English. And completing it lies an open book at the base giving it an essence of the will to learn more and more. This logo is centralised by an antenna, which has a great significance in the advancement of communication technology. Around the antenna shines the orbital rings giving the effect of power and academics. These rings cover both the miniature and giant aspect of matter because they can be visualised as molecular orbits, the very reason of our existence and it also takes us on a tour of space where it resembles the way satellites revolve around our planet depicting the huge human growth in the field of information and technology. In the right half we can see the transformation of these orbits from analog to digital and then to Binary Codes through the process of quantisation. The most amazing part is that the conversion of the binary digits to decimal leaves us with a surprise i.e., 2016, the establishment year of IIITR. Each colour will catch your eye explaining its significance. The black colour of the antenna stands for the vast space which the human race is trying to conquer. Also, light, the most fascinating form of energy when composed of red, green and blue forms the world of colours and thus the orbital rings are painted in RGB which gives a new and versatile outlook to the logo. Its motto in Sanskrit ‘उद्यमेन हि सिध्यन्ति कार्याणि’ meaning 'Things are Achieved by Enterprise’ is written on a banner at the bottom.

8 MOUNTAIN DIVISION The 8 Mountain Division was raised in 1963 to combat insurgency in Nagaland. The Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare (CIJW) School was established at Vairangte, Mizoram to impart pre-induction training to all the incoming units. Towards the end of the 1960s, this Division had well over thirty battalions under command, including those of the Assam Rifles and the other Central Police Organisations. The formation badge and sleeve patch of this Division has numeral 8 in gold with red dagger through the centre on black background.

SANT GAHIRA GURU VISHWAVIDYALAYA The circular emblem of Sant Gahira Guru Vishwavidyalaya (SGCG), formerly known a s Sarguja University has a circular border in orange and green and has its name, place and motto inscribed in Devanagari and supported by a pair of tribal ornaments. The motto is written in Sanskrit which is an extract from the Kathopanishad ‘विद्ययाऽमृतमश्नुते’, (Shloka 11, Ishopanishad) meaning ‘Immortality is Gained from Learning’. Inside the border, motifs of a drum, supported by a pair of horns; an open book topped by a red sun ; a banyan tree and a pair of crests of millets are placed. The banyan tree symbolises strength, individuality, expression, calmness, growth, the interconnectedness of everything and perpetuity; the sun denotes life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; the open book denotes knowledge, education, wisdom and learning and horns, drum and crests of millets denote tribal culture and food.

CENTRAL UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH BIHAR Central University of South Bihar (CUSB), Gaya, India, is one among fifty four such universities of the Central Government. It was established as Central University of Bihar (CUB) and the name since changed by the Central Universities (Amendment) Act, 2014 to Central University of South Bihar (CUSB). The Executive Council of the Central University of Bihar passed a resolution and accepted the logo of the university on November 20, 2010. The new logo of the university came into existence in August, 2018. The logo of the University is an adaptation of a peepal tree symbolising the rich culture of Bihar. It is a visual identity of the university representing education, wisdom and enlightenment. VIT BHOPAL UNIVERSITY VIT Bhopal University is a private university in Kothri Kalan in Sehore district, Madhya Pradesh, India. It was established by the Vellore Institute of Technology. The blue colour emblem of VIT is the Sri Jalakandeswarar temple, located within Vellore Fort. Its gopuram and walls are prominent in this circular emblem with ‘VIT’ written above. This is ensconced in a circular border on which the name is written. At the bottom, on a banner, its motto is written in Tamil ‘உழைப்பே உயர்வுதரும்’ meaning ‘Only Labour shall Elevate’ is written. The motif is an important landmark in Vellore, where the parent VIT is located. The colour blue represents calmness, serenity, trust, loyalty, wisdom, intelligence, spirituality, stability and security which goes well with the brand of the university which it has cultivated over decades.

CENTRAL WATER COMMISSION The circular seal of the Central Water Commission has a five petalled flower with a water dam, a powerline on sea water, a borewell pump, plants of cereal and a high tension transmission line each placed inside a petal. The flower is placed in an orange circle and this assembly is ensconced by a yellow circular border, on which its name in Devanagari and English and its motto in Sanskrit ‘आपो ज्योति रसोऽमृतम’ meaning ‘May That Awakens Our Intelligence’ are inscribed. The motifs inside the petals refer to the applications of water in daily life of society.

RAJASTHAN UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS) was established under the Act of State Government The Rajasthan University of Health Sciences Act, 2005 (Act No. 1 of 2005) on February 25, 2005. The emblem of the university is circular and made up of elements in yellow, orange and red shades. At its centre is the map of Rajasthan State with a staff encircled with a pair of serpents and wings symbolising Greek and Roman Gods of health called Hermes and Mercury adapted as a symbol of modern medical science along with the year of its establishment ‘2006 A.D’. The map is encircled by a pair of twigs of leaves which in Western philosophy symbolises Olive branches which is an expression of peace, love and harmony. SIDO KANHU MURMU UNIVERSITY The erstwhile Sido Kanhu University (SKU), now rechristened Sido Kanhu Murmu University (SKMU) was founded on January 10, 1992 by an act of Bihar Legislative Assembly. With the formation of the State of Jharkhand in 2000 the university comes under the new State Government of Jharkhand. The circular emblem of the university has a stem of tendu with three leaves surrounded by a swan, palash flower, mahua flower bud and its motto in Sanskrit ‘नीरक्षीरविवेकिनी  विद्या’ meaning ‘Education to Discriminate Water and Milk’. These are ensconced by a circle which bears its name in Devanagari and English and its year of establishment. At the bottom, the traditional drum used by the tribal population is placed. All these are circumscribed by a traditional running design of the locale. The motifs of all the elements used in the emblem are representative of the State and the geography the university is located in.
