The emblem of Government College of Engineering, Thanjavur (GCETJ) features a circle housing the image of iconic gopuram of the Brihadisvara Temple or the ‘Periya Koil’ of Thanjavur and the motifs of a transmission tower, a set of three meshing gear wheels, a pair of electrical transmission towers, a pair of buildings and a laptop representing different branches of engineering, ensconced by a circular border inscribed with its name and place. The circle is supported by a blue banner at the bottom, inscribed with its motto ‘Land of Knowledge’ and by a pair of ears of rice sides. The rice refers to Thanjavur- the granary of Tamilnadu.
