The circular seal of Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College (SREC) features a glowing traditional lamp supported by a gearwheel, an abstract human figure, a power symbol, a set square and an open book  placed in a circle and ensconced by a circular border inscribed with its motto ‘Enlightenment Through Education’ and its initials ‘SREC’. The traditional lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the gearwheel, power symbol, and the set square refers to the subject of engineering; the human refers to the student on the path of acquiring knowledge and skill towards enlightenment; and the book refers to learning, education, knowledge and wisdom.

The central motifs of the winged Staff of Caduceus entwined by a pair of serpents crested with a flaming torch, supported by an open book and a pair of laurels replace the Lion Capital; and the name, place and motto of the college replace the name of the State. The motto of the college in Sanskrit is ‘विद्यया विन्दते अमृतम्’ (Mantra 2.4, Kenopanishad), which translates to ‘Immortality Through Knowledge’. The Staff of Caduceus symbolises medicine and medical profession; the book symbolises the accumulation and dissemination of medical knowledge and the academic foundation of the institution; the torch with flame is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; and the laurels are symbols, which represent victory, honour and academic excellence.
