Pillay Engineering College (EGSPEC) features a image of Lord Ganesha placed inside the Tamil letter ‘ஓம்’ and kept on a shield ensconced by a border inscribed with its name. On a banner placed below the shield,the name of the place of college is written. The shield is surmounted by the words ‘Work is Worship’ and ‘Truth Triumphs’ is written below the banner. All these are placed on a circle with a blue outline. Lord Ganesha refers to blessings and benevolence of the divine; the letter ‘ஓம்’ refers to Lord Murugan; and the shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery.

INDIAN GRAPE PROCESSING BOARD Keeping the above in mind and to co-ordinate the efforts for promotion and development of the wine industry in India in close association with industry, producers and other stakeholders, the Union Cabinet in its meeting held on January 2, 2009 gave its approval for the establishment of the Indian Grape Processing Board (IGPB) under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, registered as a society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. The Board has its headquarters in Pune, Maharashtra that is close to the principal grape growing and processing areas in the country.
