The name of the institute ‘NRI’ is written on the globe and on a brown banner placed over the globe, its name is inscribed. The globe refers to education, knowledge, influence, timelessness, global unity and interconnectedness; the gearwheel refers to interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure.

KALINGA INSTITUTE OF INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) was established in 1992 as a vocational training centre with two staff and twelve students. KIIT owes its existence to the vision of its founder Prof. Achyuta Samanta. The green colour emblem of the institute has a bottom half of a gear wheel supporting the acronym ‘KIIT’ of its name in which the two ‘i’s depicting two humans. The gear wheel symbolises interconnectedness; efficiency and precision; progress and advancement; synchronisation and timing and order and structure. Below the seal, on a light green banner, the motto of the college in Arabic ‘العِلْمُ مَقْرُونٌ بِالعَمَلِ’, which translates to ‘Knowledge is Tied / Linked to Action’.
