The emblem of the National Engineering College (NEC) features a gearwheel housing the motifs of a map of India, computer and a satellite placed inside a circle circumscribed with its name and place. Its motto in Tamil ‘அறிவே ஆக்கம்’ meaning ‘Knowledge is Creation’ is placed below the gearwheel and its year of establishment is placed at the bottom. The gearwheel denotes interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure; the map refers to the college's pan Indian approach; and the computer and satellite refers to the domains of engineering studies.

RAJENDRA INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES (RIMS) The emblem of Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) is directly adapted from the State Emblem of the State of Jharkhand. The central motifs of the winged Staff of Caduceus entwined by a pair of serpents crested with a flaming torch, supported by an open book and a pair of laurels replace the Lion Capital; and the name, place and motto of the college replace the name of the State. The motto of the college in Sanskrit is ‘विद्यया विन्दते अमृतम्’ (Mantra 2.4, Kenopanishad), which translates to ‘Immortality Through Knowledge’. The Staff of Caduceus symbolises medicine and medical profession; the book symbolises the accumulation and dissemination of medical knowledge and the academic foundation of the institution; the torch with flame is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; and the laurels are symbols, which represent victory, honour and academic excellence.

These are circumscribed by the name and place of the college and its year of establishment. These are ensconced by circular outlines in red and orange. The lotus and the humans represent purity, resilience and growth.
