The emblem of Selvam College of Technology (SCT) features the motifs of a computer, a pair of power symbols, a diode, a satellite and dish antenna, a glowing sun and an open book ensconced by a gearwheel. The name of the college in blackletters surmounts the gearwheel and a yellow banner inscribed with the college’s motto ‘Step to Success’. The gearwheel denotes interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure; sun represents life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; the book refers to learning, education, knowledge and wisdom; and the other motifs refer to the different branches of engineering.

KALINGA INSTITUTE OF INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) was established in 1992 as a vocational training centre with two staff and twelve students. KIIT owes its existence to the vision of its founder Prof. Achyuta Samanta. The green colour emblem of the institute has a bottom half of a gear wheel supporting the acronym ‘KIIT’ of its name in which the two ‘i’s depicting two humans.
