The emblem of College of Engineering, Guindy (CEG) features a shield housing the motifs of a bridge surmounted by a glowing sun and an aeroplane. It is surmounted by a pair of laurels housing the monogram of initials ‘CGE’ with wings and supported by a banner inscribed with its motto in Latin ‘Labor Omnia Vincit’ meaning ‘Hard Work Conquers All’. The shield refers to denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the plane and the bridge refers to the branches of engineering; the sun represents life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication; and the wings refer to freedom, spirituality, transcendence, and divine connection.
