Below the seal, on a banner, the motto of the college in Tamil ‘முயற்சி பயிற்சி உழைப்பு’ meaning ‘Effort Training Labour’ is written. The picture of Mother MIra refers to her blessings, guidance and benevolence; the book refers to education, knowledge, learning and wisdom and the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity.

The motto of the college in Sanskrit is ‘विद्यया विन्दते अमृतम्’ (Mantra 2.4, Kenopanishad), which translates to ‘Immortality Through Knowledge’.
