COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING CHENGANNUR (CEC)

The emblem of College of Engineering Chengannur (CEC) features a pair of elephants holding a torch with flame, supporting a computer and a microprocessor referring to engineering education; with a pair of open books placed on top left and right referring to education and knowledge. The motifs are supported by a banner inscribed with ‘Electronics’ and another banner inscribed with its motto ‘Manpower Development’. This assemblage is ensconced by a gearwheel and superscribed with an atomic structure. These are ensconced by its name and a pair of laurels. The atomic structure refers to the science of engineering; the gearwheel refers to interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure; the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication; and the elephants represent the State of Kerala.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.

GIRIDIH COLLEGE, GIRIDIH The emblem of Giridih College, Giridih features a circle with four panels housing the motifs of a banyan tree, rising sun, a miner with a pickaxe and a range of mountains supported by a pair of stalks of grain. The name of the college and its motto are written in Devanagari on a circular border around the motifs.
