India was celebrating silver jubilee of independence in 1972. It was also the bicentenary year of the birth of Raja Rammohun Roy, a pioneer social reformer who had stressed the need for modern education for the progress of the nation. The year was also being celebrated as an International Book Year with the slogan ‘Books for All’. It was in May 1972, that Raja Rammohun Roy Library Foundation (RRRLF) was established by the Department of Culture, Government of India. Its oblong logo in dark blue colour has lotus spread out in circular form in the middle surrounded by a temple like structure placed within an oblong housing symbolising that books and knowledge are sacred and desrve reverence and worship.

SHRI RAMSWAROOP MEMORIAL UNIVERSITY  Shri Ramswaroop Memorial University (SRMU) was established by Uttar Pradesh State Government ACT 1 of 2012. SRMU is built upon the excellence of Shri Ramswaroop Memorial Group of Professional Colleges (SRMGPC) in engineering and business education. Its emblem has a red pot of nectar spewing out from a red vessel which has its motto ‘विद्ययाऽमृतमश्नुते’ meaning ‘Knowledge enjoys Immortality’ taken from Ishopanishad Verse 11, written on and supported by the blue globe with latitudinal and longitudinal lines. The spewed nectar falls as drops for the stakeholders benefit. These are ensconced in a border on which its name and the State is inscribed. THE I.K. GUJRAL PUNJAB TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) was established by an Act of State Legislature on January 16, 1997, to promote technical, management and pharmaceutical education in the State. It got its current name in 2015. The red and blue emblem of the university has a structure of an atom with a sun placed in the centre and supported at the bottom by a pair of hands on a blue circle, meaning the nourish, support and propagate technical and scientific education. It is ensconced in a red border which bears the name of the university in Punjabi and English. Below this on a red banner the name of the district ‘Kapurthala’ in which the university is located is written. SOBAN SINGH JEENA UNIVERSITY Soban Singh Jeena University (SSJU), Almora, a residential cum affiliating University, came into existence on August 14, 2020. The emblem of the university has three layers of concentric circles of orange, light orange and a circle consists of motifs of Mount Kailas with ‘ॐ’ inscribed on; a green valley; typical Buddhist monastery; a stupa; its acronym ‘SSJU’ and an open book supporting all. All these are supported by a magenta coloured banner which bears its year of formation. The middle circle bears its motto in Sanskrit ‘विद्याया विन्दतेअम्रुतम्’ meaning ‘Learning Bestows the Nectar of Life’. The motifs represent the geographical features of its location and the open book symbolises knowledge and wisdom.
